The committee said it successfully wrapped up its assignment on May 10 and praised aspirants, party stakeholders and security operatives for maintaining order during the exercise.
The report further revealed that the 29 sitting lawmakers under the leadership of Deputy Speaker, Dumle Maol, were all approved to contest in the APC primaries ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections.
It was also disclosed that the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Martin Amaewhule, opted to seek a seat in the House of Representatives after reportedly purchasing nomination forms.
Explaining the grounds for disqualification, the committee stated that some aspirants were screened out for “including nomination by individuals who were not financially up-to-date members of the party, attempted inducement or bribery, submission of unsworn affidavits, failure to present voter cards or party membership slips, conflicting dates of birth, irregularities in documentation, and insufficient or invalid nominators, among others.”
