At least seven were injured in a suspected bomb explosion at LGEA Primary School, Ukum local government areas of Benue State on Tuesday.
A counter-insurgency publication which focused on the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama, confirmed this in a post on Friday.
It said the went off after the children found it on the school premises and began playing with it, unknown it was an explosive.
The victims, according to the publication, are currently receiving treatment in a hospital in the area.
The spokesperson for the state police command, Udeme Edet, also confirmed the incident to journalists on Friday.
She said the command’s explosive ordnance disposal unit has been deployed to the scene of the incident for assessment.
