Aloy Ejimakor, lawyer of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, has asked the Igbo people to be ware of discord in Igboland.
Ejimakor made call in a statement posted on his official X handle against the backdrop of the Sit-at-home ban in the Southeast region.
DAILY POST reports that Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State, had last week shut down Onitsha main market over the refusal of traders to end the sit-at-home observed every Monday.
The governor’s action stirred controversy across the country with many supporting his decision and others opposing it.
But in reaction, Ejimakor cautioned Igbo people against being carried away by sentiments saying, “Amidst the controversy over the Monday sit-at-home, Ndigbo must be vigilant to any plots to seize the moment to sow discord in Igboland.
“While it’s desirable that the Sit-at-Home be ended (once & for all), it requires tact and a recognition of the main issue that triggered it.”
