The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps (So-Safe Corps) has arrested seven suspects for stealing a generator set, a grinding machine, among other items, from a company (name withheld) in the Agbara/Igbesa area of the state.

The suspects are Ibrahim Umar, Ibrahim Kalid, Aliu Abdullahi, Abdulbakar Mohammed, Rasheed Ibrahim, Sabiana, and Abdullahi Ibrahim.

The State Commander of the Corps, Soji Ganzallo, in a statement issued by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Assistant Commander Moruf Yusuf, disclosed this on Wednesday.

According to the statement, the arrest was made through the regular patrols of all commands within the agency, as directed by the State Commander.

Yusuf explained that the officers had observed suspicious movement near the perimeter fence of the company, called for backup, and the suspects were trailed and arrested at their hideout.

The statement reads: “On August 11, 2025, at about 3:30 a.m., a team of officers attached to the Director of Liaison of Corps, Assistant Commander Adebesin, while on routine patrol along Ajibade Road, off Korogboji Junction, Agbara/Igbesa, observed suspicious movements near the perimeter fence of a company (name withheld).

“In a swift response, the patrol team called for reinforcement to avoid casualties, as the number of assailants involved in the crime was not yet known.

“Before the arrival of the backup team, the suspects had already carted away some properties of the company. However, they were trailed to a nearby location where, at about 5:00 a.m., the officers apprehended seven suspects.”

Items recovered from their hideout include a grinding machine and generator set stolen from the company, as well as two motorcycles suspected to be proceeds from previous crimes.

“One of the motorcycles had no number plate, while the other was marked PKA-147 VM. However, a 30-litre container of diesel and a standing scale, also carted away, are yet to be recovered,” the statement added.

The Corps Commander, Soji Ganzallo, added that the suspects and the recovered items have been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Agbara Divisional Headquarters, for further investigation and possible prosecution.
