South African police authorities have made a major breakthrough in the brutal murder of a 22-year-old Plateau State student, Isaac Satlat.
This is following the arrest of a female suspect in connection with the killing of the Nigerian national who was reportedly kidnapped and killed in Moshongo Province of Pretoria.
The Gauteng Police Command which made the announcement in a statement on Friday, confirmed the arrest of the female accomplice following investigations into the violent hijacking and murder of Isaac who was said to be using his father’s car to run an e-hailing business.
Isaac who was the son of a Nigerian Christian missionary, was abducted on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, and his body recovered two days later after allegedly picking up passengers who had requested an e-hailing ride.
According to the police, preliminary investigations indicated that the victim was targeted by a male and a female who reportedly hijacked the vehicle during the trip.
Continuing, the police statement added that the Provincial Commissioner of Police in Gauteng, Lieutenant General Tommy Mthombeni, has assigned a senior detective to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident and ensure all suspects are arrested and prosecuted.
“The arrested female suspect is expected to appear before the Atteridgeville Magistrate’s Court on Monday, February 16, 2026, where she will face charges including hijacking and murder, while a manhunt has been launched for a second suspect believed to have participated in the attack.
“Authorities urged anyone with information that could assist in locating the fleeing suspect to contact the nearest police station or CrimeStop,” the police advised.
