A 20-year-old undergraduate of the University of Lagos told the State High Court, Ikeja, on Wednesday she was allegedly raped by her lecturer, Dr. Samuel Ojogbo.

The student, who was led in evidence by State Counsel, Mr. Owolabi Azeez, alleged that the lecturer forcefully raped her in his underground office.

The victim said on August 21, 2025, she was writing an exam when the defendant asked if questions reflected her reading.

“I said yes, I knew a section better. He told me not to worry and to see him after the exam,” she said.

The complainant said she visited the lecturer’s office twice but did not meet him.

“The next day, August 22, I had another exam. The defendant supervised it. Afterwards, I saw him and he asked me to wait,” she added.

The student said she followed the lecturer to an underground office without windows or a secretary.

“We sat and discussed the exam. Two students entered; he dismissed them and asked me to shut the door.

“As I closed it, he stood behind me, pushed me onto a couch and began touching me.

“He caressed me, forced himself on me and raped me.

“Afterwards, he said he would supervise my final-year project and collected my number,” she added.

The student said she left crying and reported the incident to a friend.
