Gunmen suspected to be bandits on Saturday abducted the traditional ruler of Olayinka community in Ifelodun local government area of Kwara State, Oba Salman Aweda.
The hoodlums also went away with the monarch’s wife, and a resident during the midnight attack on the community.
Residents told journalists the attackers stormed the palace 1:40 a.m. on Saturday, shot sporadically to scare residents before whisking the victims to an unknown location.

The Chairman of Ifelodun LGA, Abdulrasheed Yusuf, confirmed the incident.
He said efforts to rescue the victims are ongoing.
