Three men have been arrested in Nafada Local Government Area of Gombe State for allegedly engaging in ritual activities involving human remains.

This was made known in a post on X on Thursday by a counter-insurgency and security expert in the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama.

Makama said that the incident happened on February 24, 2026, when Zakari Ibrahim, 45, of Barwo Sabon Gari Village, reported that he saw Umar Ibrahim, 30, of Madaki Quarters, Barwo Winde District, digging a grave at Barwo Sabon Gari Grave Yard.

According to the source, during interrogation, Umar Ibrahim reportedly admitted that he was sent by his father, Ibrahim Usman, 60, of the same address, to remove body parts from a deceased person for ritual purposes.

The suspect further confessed that in 2025, he had previously exhumed a human toe from the same graveyard and handed it over to Alhaji Bappa Abdu, 35, also of the same area.

“All three suspects were arrested by the Police and have reportedly confessed to the alleged crimes. Investigations are ongoing,” Makama said.
