The Take-It-Back Movement, TIB, in collaboration with the Movement for the Transformation of Nigeria, MoTion, has announced plans to stage a protest in Lagos State and other parts of the nation against some unfavourable government policies.

The protest scheduled for Friday, October 17, 2025, aims at demanding an end to “anti-people” government policies, rising poverty, and forced evictions under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

The strike notice was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday by Adekunle Adeyemi Taofeek, the Lagos State Coordinator of TIB.

According to the statement, the protest will begin at 7 a.m. at the Lagos State House of Assembly.

Workers, students, traders, and the unemployed are expected to participate in the nationwide demonstration.

The groups said the protest would be a “united call against crippling poverty, exploitative fuel tax, and oppressive tax reforms,” which, according to them, have worsened the living conditions of millions of Nigerians.

“In recent months, millions of Nigerians have been pushed deeper into poverty as the cost of living skyrockets beyond survival limits.

“The regime’s so-called ‘tax reform’ has only worsened economic hardship, targeting the poor while protecting the rich,” the statement read.
