The Nigerian government on Wednesday, claimed that terror attacks has been reduced to 80 percent in the Southeast.
Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris disclosed this during a press conference in Abuja.
Idris disclosed that the feat was achieved through joint effort of security agents.
He also revealed that criminals have been neutralized with most of them arrested in the Northcentral.
“In the South-East, terror attacks have been reduced by almost 80% through the joint effort of our security agencies.
“In the North-Central, many of these criminal elements have been neutralized, and many arrests have been made,” Idris said.
Earlier, Idris named foreign lobbyists as those behind the widespread claim of “Christian genocide” in Nigeria.
He disclosed that finding by the Nigerian government revealed that a network of external actors, particularly in the United States deliberately promoting divisive and misleading portrayals of Nigeria’s internal security challenges.
“Nigerian government has been able to see a correlation between some of the lobbyists operating especially in the US and the activities here (in Nigeria),” he said.
There has been a widespread outrage over reports of Christian genocide in the Northern part of Nigeria, leading to President Donald Trump of the United States, US, threatening military action against Nigeria.
