Former Portugal international, Luis Figo has revealed the Premier League club he wanted to join during his playing days.

Speaking recently on The Obi One Podcast, Figo explained that he had to join Inter Milan after leaving Real Madrid because the Premier League club he wanted to join took too long to conclude a deal for his signature.

He, however, admitted that he made the right decision to join the Serie A giants.

“When I moved from Real Madrid to Inter Milan, it was true that I was talking with an English Premier League club at that time,” Figo said.

“They took too long to decide, and I had a meeting with Moratti, and in that meeting and in the end I chose to go to Italy, and I did because we had big feelings in the meeting, and I think it was the best decision.”

When asked by Chelsea legend John Obi Mikel which Premier League club he was talking with, Figo suggested it was Liverpool, saying: “I was talking with [Rafael] Benitez at that time, he was in Liverpool, and in the end nothing happened.”
