President Bola Tinubu on Saturday congratulated the former Managing Director of the Nigerian Inland Waterway (NIWA), Bola Oyebamiji on his emergence as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Osun State.
Oyebamiji emerged as the party’s candidate for the August 2026 election at the primary election held in Osogbo, the state capital.
In a statement issued in Abuja by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President charged Oyebamiji to reclaim the state for APC in the election.

Tinubu stressed the need for the APC candidate to work towards reclaiming Osun for the progressives next year.
He praised the Osun APC for the unity and reconciliation that characterised the primary election conducted through affirmation.
The President commended all the aspirants who stepped down to support Oyebamiji and described the gesture as a demonstration of party loyalty and commitment.
Tinubu urged Oyebamiji to be magnanimous in victory by embracing party leaders and former aspirants to sustain cohesion.
“The journey to reclaim Osun for the progressives’ fold in the 2026 governorship election has begun.
“I urge all the members and leaders of APC in the state to remain focused, united and resolute.
“Victory is achievable, and together, we will succeed,” President Tinubu’ stated.
