President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has acknowledged concerns raised by media leaders over tariffs, assuring them that the issue would be reviewed and corrected.

Speaking during an interfaith iftar with media executives at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja, the president said he had listened carefully to the discussions around tariffs affecting the media industry.

“I’ve listened carefully to you. It’s as if you’ve worked with me today. The question of tariff was discussed this afternoon.

“What I cannot report back here is whether I took action in the area that affected you or not, but if I miss that, I’ll go back to rectify it,” Tinubu said.

The president also praised media organisations for their contribution to national development, noting that the industry provides jobs and plays a critical role in informing and educating the public.

“The joy is that many of you have employed people to live a life and inform people to get information, educate and strengthen our minds,” he added.
