President Bola Tinubu has nominated a former Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Lamido Yuguda, as the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
The Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to the President, Bayo Onanuga, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja.
The appointment is however subject to the Senate confirmation.

Onanuga said Yuguda’s nomination followed the appointment of a former CBN Deputy Governor, Bala Bello, as Special Adviser on Political Economy to the President.
Yuguda served as SEC DG from 2020 to 2024.
