President Bola Tinubu has nominated Bernard Doro from Plateau State as a Minister of the Federal Republic. The announcement was made in a statement on Tuesday, October 21, by the Presidents Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, who confirmed that Tinubu has sent a letter to the Senate seeking Doros confirmation. Doros nomination comes after the election of Nentawe Yilwatda as the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman in July. Yilwatda previously served as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction. Born on January 23, 1969, in Kwall, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, Doro brings more than two decades of professional experience spanning clinical practice, pharmaceutical management, strategic leadership, and community engagement across Nigeria and the United Kingdom. He holds degrees in Pharmacy and Law, an MBA with a focus on IT-driven business strategy, and a Masters degree in Advanced Clinical Practice. Doro is also an Independent Prescriber and Advanced Clinical Practitioner with hands-on experience in the UKs National Health Service (NHS), where he has worked in urgent care, walk-in centres, general practice, and hospital settings. Beyond his medical career, Doro has led several youth mentorship and social impact initiatives both in the diaspora and in local communities. Onanuga noted that President Tinubu expects the Senate to give due consideration to the nomination and act promptly on the confirmation request. The post
