President Bola Tinubu has requested the Senate confirmation of the appointment of Mr. Mainasara Illo as Executive Secretary of Nigerian Anti-Doping Centre (NADC).
Tinubu made the request in a letter to the Senate and read by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, at Tuesday’s plenary in Abuja.
The President said the request was in accordance with section 15 of 2025 Nigerian Anti-Doping Act.
“In line with section 15 of the Nigerian Anti-doping Act 2025, I am pleased to present for confirmation by the Senate the appointment of Mr. Mainasara Illo as Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Anti-Doping Center (NADC) for an initial term of four years.

“While I hope that the Senate will consider and confirm the nominee in its usual expeditious manner, please, accept Distinguished Senate President, the assurances of my highest regards,” the letter read.
Akpabio, thereafter, referred the request to Senate Committees on Narcotics and Sports for further legislative inputs.
