Troops of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) have arrested a suspected terrorist in Gandu area of Lafia Local Government Area of Nasarawa state.
This was made known in a post on X by Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency and security expert in the Lake Chad region.
The source said the suspect was apprehended at about 12:30pm on March 20 following a report of suspected terrorist activities in the area.
According to the source, troops of Sector 2 OPWS, based in Lafia, swiftly responded to the intelligence and moved to the location.
“On arrival at the general area, troops successfully apprehended one suspected terrorist who was found in possession of a motorcycle,” the source said.
It added that the suspect and the recovered motorcycle are currently in military custody for further investigation and necessary action.
