Troops of the Nigerian Army have arrested three suspected logistics suppliers linked to the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The development was disclosed in a post shared on X on Tuesday by security analyst Zagazola Makama, who cited security sources.
According to the report, the arrests were carried out by troops under Operation Savannah Shield at about 7:35 am on March 15 at a Forward Operating Base in Kaiama.
Security sources said the troops first arrested one suspect who was allegedly planning to supply three motorcycles to a terrorist group.
Further investigation led to the arrest of two other suspects believed to be members of ISWAP/Boko Haram, who had reportedly arrived in the area to receive the motorcycles.
The suspects were said to be planning to move the motorcycles to terrorists operating in Nuku village.
All three suspects are currently in military custody, while investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of their involvement and possible links to other members of the network.
