Troops of 12 Brigade in Kogi have killed a suspected terrorist and arrested logistics couriers in the state.
The Nigerian Army in an operational report made available to journalists on Monday in Abuja revealed that the troops, acting on credible intelligence, intensified checkpoints and clearance operations across parts of Lokoja Local Government Area of the state.
It said that troops deployed along the Jamata–Owara axis intercepted and apprehended a suspected terrorist logistics courier conveying supplies on a motorcycle.
According to the army, a search on the suspect led to the discovery of a modified fuel tank designed for concealing ammunition, as well as three mobile phones and a purchase receipt.

”Further exploitation of intelligence obtained from the suspect led troops to a suspected logistics exchange point.
”During the encounter, troops made contact with fleeing terrorists, neutralising one while others escaped with gunshot wounds.
”Items recovered from the scene include a motorcycle, pump-action belt with cartridges, charms, drinks, mobile phone, side bag, and a cash sum of ₦20,000,” the report read.
The army also revealed that troops in a separate operation on the same day apprehended another suspected terrorist at Bakumba community in Lokoja LGA.
