She said the operation, conducted in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force and local vigilantes, took place around Gidan Dogo following credible intelligence on the location of the terrorists.
She added that the terrorists were reportedly responsible for the recent abduction of residents in the Byazhin area of Bwari.
“Troops made contact with the criminals during the operation, leading to a firefight in which one of the terrorists was neutralised while others escaped with suspected gunshot wounds.
“Further exploitation of the area led to the recovery of one AK-47 rifle and a locally fabricated firearm.
“All 19 kidnapped victims were successfully rescued and evacuated to safety, while troops later returned to their Forward Operating Base in Bwari.
“The rescued victims are currently receiving attention,” the spokesperson added.
