An articulated truck has crushed a commercial motorcyclist and his passenger to death on the Lagos-Badagry Expressway on Sunday.
The General Manager of the Lagos State Traffic Management.Authority (LASTMA), Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki, disclosed this in a statement issues on Sunday by the agency’s
Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment, Mr. Taofig Adebayo.
Bakare-Oki described as regrettable, the accident that occurred at Iyana-Iba Flyover near Lagos State University, Ojo.
Bakare-Oki said: “reliminary findings revealed that the fully-loaded truck was speeding from Volkswagen inward Badagry, knocked down a pedestrian and failed to stop.

“A motorcyclist, accompanied by another sympathiser, pursued the fleeing truck driver, and was killed after the driver rammed into the motorcycle, while the accompanying person escaped unhurt.
“Operatives of the LASTMA Night Gang Surveillance and Monitoring Patrol Team deployed along the Badagry Expressway corridor evacuated the deceased motorcyclist trapped beneath the front tyre of the bucket truck.”
“The driver was handed over to the police at Okokomaiko as well as Federal Road Safety Corps officers for further investigation.”
