Emergency responders have recovered two bodies from the rubble of a three-storey building that collapsed in the Yaba area of Lagos on Friday night.
The Acting Head of the National Emergency Management Agency (Lagos Operations Office), Mrs. Adenike Ibitayo, disclosed this to journalists on Saturday in Lagos.
Four people rescued from the rubble of the uncompleted building are currently receiving treatment in a hospital in the area.
Ibitayo said the building located at No. 333 Borno Street, Alagomeji, Yaba, collapsed at 8:30 p.m. on Friday and trapped several persons.
She added that search and rescue operations were ongoing.

The NEMA official noted that the number of people still trapped under the rubble could not be determined until the building was completely brought down to ground level.
She listed emergency responders at the scene to include the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Lagos State Building and Control Agency (LABSCA), and the Nigeria Police Force, among others.
