Two radio presenters die in Oyo

Reports reaching DAILY POST from Oyo State indicate that two radio presenters in the state have died.

The news of the demise of the two individuals, Kola Oladapo and Idowu Ogunbunmi were announced on Sunday.

The duo were working with two different media houses in the state before they died.

Oladapo was until his death, a staff of Lagelu 96.6 FM Ibadan, the state capital.

Ogunbunmi on the other hand was working with Radio Nigeria FM, Oko in Ogbomoso geopolitical zone.

Our correspondent learnt that Oladapo has been buried at Sango cemetery in Ibadan.

According to sources, Oladapo was buried amidst tears at the burial attended by family members, friends and associates Sunday afternoon.

The management described Oladapo’s death as unfortunate.

The station said the late broadcaster lived a life filled with purpose, passion and genuine humanity.

The statement said, “He was a man of many talents who wore his greatness with humility and grace, leaving lasting impressions on colleagues, friends and listeners alike”.

DAILY POST gathered that Ogunbunmi, was well known for his impactful programme on Rave FM, Osogbo.

It was learnt that he distinguished himself as a vibrant voice on governance, culture and public affairs.

An associate of the deceased, Chief Peter Taiwo Ogundeji, confirmed his death.

Ogundeji described the late broadcaster as a rare professional whose death represents a huge loss to the media industry and the society at large.

He said, “I received with deep shock, pain and disbelief the devastating news of the sudden death of my brother, Mr. Idowu Ogunbunmi”.
