Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has hit out at his players for not following his instructions, as they played out a 1-1 draw with Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League last-16 first leg on Wednesday night.
There were no goals in the opening 45 minutes, but the hosts took the lead shortly after the restart through Robert Andrich.
Kai Havertz levelled for the Gunners from the penalty spot in the 89th minute.
But after the game, Arteta was fuming with the goal his team conceded, as it ruined their plans to start the second half strongly.
He told reporters: “We wanted to start very strong in the second half and we’ve done completely the opposite.
“We started not paying enough attention on the kick-off which we already discussed before the match.
“So then they have a clear header and after that they score the goal. And then it’s obviously game on and the tide changes completely.”
