President Donald Trump on Tuesday in New York persuaded the United Nations to immediately move away from its lenient approach during serious situations to a hard stance.
”All they seem to do is write…Empty words don’t solve war,” he said at the 80th General Assembly, while accusing the global body of writing only the conventional strong-worded letters but never following them up.
Noting that his mediation helped to end seven wars, the US leader faults the UN leadership for not reaching out to help finalize the process, rather repaying him with “a bad escalator and a bad teleprompter.”
Trump told the gathering that his arbitration involving Pakistan and India, Cambodia and Thailand, Congo and Rwanda, Israel and Iran, Kosovo and Serbia, Armenia and Azerbaijan, Egypt and Ethiopia should have been done by the UN.
Speaking on the interventions aimed at alleviating humanitarian crises, the president puts his wish to see children live to grow up with their mothers, fathers, and millions no longer killed above a Nobel Peace Prize.
Trump urged countries to work together to tackle the greatest threats in history, and echoed his position that the “world’s number one sponsor of terror can never be allowed to possess the most dangerous weapon.”
The president, however, knocked countries seeking to unilaterally recognize a Palestinian state, urging them to seek the release of the hostages, instead of “giving in to Hamas’s ransom demands.”
On the war in Ukraine, Trump maintains that China and India are the “primary funders” by continuing to purchase Russian oil, while some NATO countries have not cut off much Russian energy.
The leader encouraged nations to jointly end the development of biological weapons ”once and for all,” and vowed that the U.S. would blow individuals smuggling poisonous drugs ”out of existence.”
