If you’re wondering what’s next on the horizon, this upcoming Xbox games 2025 list will keep you on top of every new video game release. And 2025 promises to be a massive year for Microsoft’s console, with some long-awaited games like Gears of War: Reloaded finally releasing.
It’s worth noting that all the games below are also playable on Xbox Series S, so if you own Microsoft’s more affordable console, you’ll still have access to all these great titles, albeit in digital form as the Xbox Series S doesn’t have a disc drive.

Several exclusive Xbox games are due to release throughout 2025 and they’re all coming to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on day one.
Avowed is another highly anticipated Xbox exclusive that fans were looking forward to this year. It’s developed by the Pillars of Eternity and Fallout New Vegas team, Obsidian, and promises to scratch that fantasy, role-playing itch.
Towerborne is an action RPG from the team behind the award-winning Banner Saga franchise. The game is inspired by classic side-scrolling beat ‘em ups but the unique twist is that there will be an element of persistence, allowing the game to be updated and expanded over time.
Announced over four years ago, 2025 was supposed to be the year we finally saw the Fable reboot. However, it’s been pushed back yet again to 2026.
Another game that’s been a long time coming, South of Midnight is now available. The game features a unique, stop-motion art style and is set in the American Deep South.
