US issues Federal warrant for Nigerian Woman after evading eight-year sentence

A federal arrest warrant has been issued for 45-year-old Emuobosan Emanuella Hall, a Nigerian national and U.S. permanent resident, after she failed to report to prison to begin an eight-year sentence for romance fraud. Hall now faces up to an additional 10 years in prison for evading custody.U.S. Attorney David I. Courcelle announced that Hall was ordered to surrender to the Bureau of Prisons by March 25, 2026, following her January sentencing. However, GPS data from her monitoring device showed her last known location at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on March 24, where the device stopped transmitting. While she claimed to be traveling to a facility in Minnesota, airline records confirmed she never boarded the flight, and phone records suggest she may have traveled to Dulles International Airport near Washington, D.C.Hall previously pleaded guilty to conspiring to defraud elderly women through elaborate romance scams. Operating under the company "Le Beau Monde LLC" alongside co-defendant Kenneth G. Akpieyi, the conspirators posed as high-ranking officials and entrepreneurs to convince victims to send money for fake medical emergencies and charitable causes. Hall admitted responsibility for over $851,000 in losses, while Akpieyi, who is currently serving a 25-year sentence, was linked to more than $3.5 million in fraud. Federal authorities have condemned Halls actions, noting that her failure to report reflects a complete lack of respect for the law and the victims she exploited. The FBI New Orleans Field Office is leading the investigation into her current whereabouts.The legal landscape remains active as several other high-profile cases move through the courts.
