The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has commenced deportation proceedings against a Nigerian national, Ibrahim Tunde Ijaoba, citing a long history of violent crime, gang involvement, and illegal drug activities.

In a statement issued by US immigration authorities, ICE described Ijaoba as a “criminal illegal alien” who entered the United States without authorisation and later became deeply involved in organised street crime.

According to ICE, Ijaoba was formerly affiliated with the Bloods, a notorious street gang known for violent operations, armed robberies, and drug trafficking across multiple states in the US.

His criminal record reportedly includes convictions for aggravated assault on a police officer using a firearm, multiple counts of assault, armed robbery, obstruction of justice, drug distribution, and escaping from lawful police custody.

Officials said the pattern of offences points to sustained violent and organised criminal conduct, which they said poses a serious risk to public safety.

ICE further confirmed that Ijaoba is currently subject to a final order of removal and remains in immigration detention, awaiting deportation to Nigeria.
