Vivo X300 Ultra and X300s: Specs | Camera Features | Launch Details

2 hours ago 1

Vivo is preparing to expand its flagship smartphone lineup with two new models, the Vivo X300 Ultra and Vivo X300s.

The devices are expected to bring interesting upgrades to the company’s X-series, which has built a reputation, particularly across Asian markets, for strong camera performance and premium hardware.

During a preview at Mobile World Congress 2026, Vivo highlighted the imaging capabilities of the X300 Ultra, describing the device as a huge step toward professional-grade smartphone photography.

The X300s was not officially showcased during the event, but reports reveal it could launch either alongside the Ultra variant or shortly after, likely before the end of the first half of 2026.

Both smartphones appear to target slightly different audiences. The X300 Ultra is aimed at photography enthusiasts and content creators, while the X300s focuses more on performance, gaming and display smoothness.

Vivo X300 Ultra: Built for Mobile Photography

The Vivo X300 Ultra is expected to place camera performance at the centre of its design. Early details show the device could feature a 200-megapixel main sensor alongside a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera, making it one of the most ambitious camera setups seen on a smartphone so far this year.

At MWC, Vivo also demonstrated a ZEISS Telephoto Extender accessory capable of delivering around 400mm optical reach, extendable up to 1600mm, pushing the limits of mobile zoom photography.

To support such imaging power, the phone is expected to run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with a large battery designed for heavy workloads such as video capture, editing and gaming.

Key Expected Specifications

  • Display:8-inch LTPO OLED, 2K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate
  • Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5
  • Rear Cameras: 200MP main camera, 200MP periscope telephoto, 50MP ultra-wide
  • Front Camera: 50MP
  • Battery: Around 7000mAh
  • Charging: Up to 100W wired, 40W wireless
  • Operating System: Android 16 with OriginOS 6
  • Durability: IP69 water and dust resistance
  • Other Features: Ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, USB 3.2 support

Vivo X300s: Focused on Performance and Gaming

While the Ultra model emphasises photography, the Vivo X300s is expected to focus on speed and gaming performance.

The device could feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, making it one of the smoothest displays in the X-series lineup. The higher refresh rate is also expected to support native 144FPS gameplay in compatible titles.

Despite the gaming focus, the X300s is still expected to include ZEISS-powered camera hardware, allowing it to maintain strong photography capabilities.

Key Expected Specifications

  • Display:78-inch AMOLED (BOE Q10 Plus), 144Hz refresh rate
  • Processor: Flagship chipset from the MediaTek Dimensity processors series
  • Rear Camera: 200MP ZEISS main camera
  • Gaming Support: Native 144FPS optimisation
  • Haptics: Custom large 4D vibration motor
  • Design: Large-screen flagship build
  • Focus: Gaming performance and smooth user experience

Competition With Other 2026 Flagships

When released, the new Vivo devices will likely compete with several other high-end smartphones launched this year, including the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, Xiaomi 17 Ultra and Oppo Find X9 Ultra.

Manufacturers across the premium segment are increasingly focusing on larger sensors, periscope zoom systems and AI-assisted photography. For example, Xiaomi continues to expand its imaging partnership with Leica.

Vivo’s approach stands out, however, because of the dual-200MP camera configuration and the external telephoto extender accessory, which could offer greater optical zoom flexibility than many competing devices.

Upgrades Over the Previous Generation

Compared with earlier models in the lineup such as the Vivo X200 series, the upcoming X300 range is expected to introduce several improvements:

  • Higher-resolution camera sensors, including dual 200MP lenses
  • Larger battery capacity close to 7000mAh
  • Next-generation flagship processors
  • Support for professional photography accessories

The Vivo X300s and Vivo X300 Ultra appear to represent two different directions within the flagship smartphone market.

The X300s is designed to provide high refresh-rate performance and gaming capabilities, while the X300 Ultra focuses heavily on advanced camera technology and professional imaging tools.

If the expected specifications hold, the X300 series could become one of the most competitive flagship smartphone releases of 2026, particularly for users looking for powerful hardware, strong photography performance and premium design.
