Travel tech company Wakanow has announced the acquisition of Nairabox, a Nigerian digital ticketing and lifestyle platform known for its innovative approach to event bookings, movie tickets, and entertainment payments.

The strategic move marks Wakanow’s expansion beyond travel into digital experiences and lifestyle services, strengthening its ecosystem in the tech-driven leisure and tourism industry.

According to Wakanow Group CEO Adebayo Adedeji, the acquisition aligns with the company’s mission to build a one-stop platform for travel, entertainment, and lifestyle experiences.

“With Nairabox joining the Wakanow family, we’re creating a seamless experience for Africans to not just travel but also explore entertainment and culture easily,” Adedeji said.

Nairabox, founded in 2015, has been a pioneer in Nigeria’s digital ticketing space, enabling users to purchase tickets for concerts, cinemas, and social events with ease.

Industry analysts say the deal could signal a new wave of integration between travel tech and entertainment tech in Africa, as Wakanow positions itself as a major player in both local and international travel experiences.
