Hezbollah has expressed its congratulations to Ayatollah Sayyid Mojtaba Khamenei on his election as the third Supreme Leader of Iran, succeeding his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was recently killed by the United States government.
In a statement, Hezbollah commended Iran’s Assembly of Experts for what it characterized as the prompt election of a new leader, despite the ongoing aggression from the United States and Israel.
The organization stated that the selection of Mojtaba Khamenei has “disappointed and confused” the adversaries of Iran, interpreting it as a signal that the Islamic Republic will not be cowed.
“We in Hezbollah offer our heartfelt congratulations and blessings on this significant occasion. We reaffirm our commitment to this blessed path and our unwavering loyalty to the cause,” it remarked.
President Donald Trump of the United States has already indicated that the new Iranian Supreme Leader would not endure for long without his endorsement.
The US president made this assertion during an interview with ABC News on Sunday.
