
The United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Kuwait have all said there were new attacks from Iran on Sunday.
The attacks happened after Iran’s president said sorry to nearby countries for the attacks on the U.S facilities in those countries.
The countries reported that their air defense systems were stopping missiles and drones sent from Iran on Sunday.
“The UAE’s defense forces are now dealing with missiles and drones coming from Iran,” said the UAE defense ministry in a message on X.
They also mentioned that the noises heard were because the defense systems were shooting down the missiles and drones.
Kuwait officials reported that two border guards were killed as the country came under attack from a group of missiles and drones from Iran, adding to worries about the safety of energy supplies.
Kuwait’s military stated that they were still stopping “hostile missile and drone attacks” on Sunday.
The Kuwaiti military said on X that their “air defenses are now fighting against enemy missiles and drones.”
They explained that the sounds of explosions were from the air defense systems hitting the attacks.
Kuwait’s national oil company said it would reduce crude oil production as a precaution.
The country’s military stated on Sunday that it had dealt with a group of enemy drones that entered its airspace, adding that fuel tanks at Kuwait’s international airport were hit by a drone attack.
The official Kuwait News Agency stated that a fire at the airport has been controlled. They described the drone attack as a direct attempt to target important infrastructure.
The Kuwaiti interior ministry stated that two border guards “were martyred…” while performing their national duty”, without elaborating. It wasn’t clear if their deaths were caused by an attack from Iran.
