Iran’s armed forces have threatened to target Israeli embassies around the world if Israel carries out an attack on Tehran’s diplomatic mission in Lebanon.
According to Al Jazeera, Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi, spokesperson for the Iranian Armed Forces, issued the warning during a television interview while addressing what he described as Israeli threats against Iran’s embassy in Beirut.
He said live on television, “If Israel commits such a crime, it will force us to make all Israeli embassies around the world our legitimate target.”
Shekarchi accused Israel of repeatedly disregarding international norms and boundaries but stressed that Iran has exercised restraint despite what he described as its significant capabilities.
According to him, Tehran has shown caution out of respect for international considerations and diplomatic relations.
“Apart from the United States and the Israeli regime, Iran maintains no hostility or conflict with any other nation,” Shekarchi noted.
In a direct warning, he declared that any attack on Iran’s embassy in Lebanon would compel Tehran to treat Israeli diplomatic missions globally as legitimate targets.
“If the Zionist regime commits such an act of aggression, we will undoubtedly take reciprocal action,” he stated.
Shekarchi further reaffirmed Iran’s determination to confront both Israel and its primary ally, the United States, saying Iran intends to bring them “to their knees” and will not waver in its resolve.
The Iranian warning follows remarks by Avichay Adraee, the Israeli military’s Arabic-language spokesman, who said Israel “warns representatives of the Iranian terror regime who are still in Lebanon to leave immediately before being targeted,” giving them 24 hours to flee.
The exchange of threats comes amid escalating tensions over the U.S. and Israel’s posture against Iran.
