War: Over 28,000 Americans evacuated from Middle East

The United States Department of State has confirmed that more than 28,000 American citizens have safely returned to the country from the Middle East since the end of February, as Washington steps up evacuation and travel support efforts in response to escalating regional security concerns.

In a statement issued on Saturday, Dylan Johnson explained that the large-scale operation is part of an ongoing initiative to assist U.S. nationals seeking safe passage out of the region.

“Since February 28, the State Department has coordinated numerous evacuation measures, including charter flights and ground transportation, to ensure the secure relocation of American citizens,” Johnson said.

He noted that this figure does not account for Americans who have moved to neighbouring countries or those still in transit to the United States.

According to the statement, more than a dozen charter flights have been completed, facilitating the movement of thousands of citizens.

While commercial air travel in the region is gradually resuming, the department indicated that its charter and ground transport arrangements will continue to expand as security conditions allow.

The State Department’s 24-hour Task Force has also been actively engaged, providing over 16,000 Americans with direct assistance, security guidance, and travel coordination.

U.S. authorities urged citizens currently in countries such as Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Israel who require support to submit the official Crisis Intake Form to ensure proper evacuation planning.
