War: Ukraine agrees to assist US after Trump’s request for Shahed drones

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine said his country will assist the US and its allies in dealing with Iran’s Shahed drones, following a request from the US for help.

Russia has sent hundreds of thousands of Shaheds to Ukraine since it began attacking its neighbor more than four years ago.

At one point, Russia sent out more than 800 drones and fake targets in its largest attack during the night.

Iran has sent out the same type of drones during the ongoing war, using them to attack US bases, Israel and other nations in the Middle East as a way to retaliation.

Zelenskyy shared on social media that he received a request from the United States for assistance in fighting drones in the Middle East.

He said he had arranged for equipment to be sent together with Ukrainian experts.

He said, “Ukraine stands by those allies who help protect our country and ensure the safety of our people.”

Ukraine has begun producing inexpensive equipment that can destroy drones, and it only costs about $1,000.
