The Israeli Defense Forces, IDF, on Friday claimed responsibility of the killing of the head of intelligence for Iran’s Basij paramilitary force, Esmail Ahmadi.
The IDF said it killed Ahmadi in the same strike carried out earlier this week that killed several other senior leadership of the Basij, including its top commander, Gholamreza Soleimani.
At the time of filing this report no immediate comment/confirmation from Iran about the killing.
This incident adds to the growing list of top Iranian officials killed in recent strikes, including security chief Ali Larijani and intelligence minister Esmaeil Khatib.
Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in the opening hours of the joint military attacks and has been replaced by his son, Mojtaba Khamenei.
