President of the United States, Donald Trump, has stated that the US-Israel conflict has resulted in a change of regime in Iran.
He further mentioned his intention to negotiate a deal with Tehran.
“I believe we will reach an agreement with them, quite certain … but we have experienced regime change,” Trump told reporters on Air Force One on Sunday, referencing the number of Iranian leaders who have been killed during the conflict.
“We are engaging with individuals who are unlike any we have dealt with previously.
“This is an entirely different group of individuals. Therefore, I would classify this as regime change,” the US president noted.
The US president has conveyed this message previously – White House press secretary Karoline Leavit remarked last week when questioned about Trump’s ongoing assertions that regime change in Iran has occurred, “Has it not?” she inquired.
“Their complete leadership has been eliminated, and no one has genuinely seen or heard from this purported new leader, so would you not agree that there has been a change in the regime?”
She continued, “There has been a shift in the regime leadership, which aligns with what the president stated, so thank you for affirming that he is correct.”
