The United States has issued a warning to its citizens globally to exercise ‘increased caution’.
This is as a result of the ongoing war against Iran by the US and Israel.
The US believes that its citizens everywhere around the world are targets.
The State Department, in a statement on Sunday, encouraged American nationals around the world to be more vigilant in light of the ongoing conflict in Iran.
The department shared the message on X.
“Global Caution: The Department of State advises Americans everywhere, particularly in the Middle East, to practice heightened caution,” it said.
It added, “U.S. diplomatic missions, even those located outside the Middle East, have been targets of attacks.
“Groups aligned with Iran may seek to target other U.S. interests abroad or places linked to the United States and/or American citizens globally.”
The State Department further noted that intermittent airspace closures could lead to travel disruptions, and Americans traveling abroad should adhere to the security alerts provided by the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate.
The war in Iran, which began with the elimination of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the country’s Supreme Leader and some members of his family, has now entered its fourth week.
