American rapper and international music star, Nicki Minaj, has reiterated that she would continue to speak out against the persecution and killing of Christians worldwide, with a specific highlight of the Christian genocide in Nigeria.
Minaj who has been one of the few voices in the entertainment industry to come out boldly to speak against the alleged persecution of Christians in Nigeria, made the remarks during an appearance at the AmericaFest on Sunday while responding to a question from Erika Kirk, widow of Charlie Kirk.
The music star emphasized that many in the United States take their freedom to worship for granted, while millions around the world are forced to practice their faith in secrecy.
“We take it for granted because we have it. We can’t even imagine not having that right,” she said.
While urging Christians around the world to pray for those facing persecution, Minaj said reports of violence against Christians in Nigeria, especially kidnappings and killings during church services has become a cause for concern.
“All because of their religion; that should spark outrage in the great America, and that’s what it did,” she said, insisting that she and other Christians would no longer be silenced.
The rapper also spoke about her personal Christian faith, tracing it back to her childhood in Trinidad and her formative years in New York, where regular church attendance shaped her life.
She described a renewed closeness to God that has given her clarity and courage in her personal and professional life and encouraged young people to hold on to their faith, praising them for their devotion.
“I want to say I’m proud of you guys… it tells us that there’s hope for our future. So God bless you,” she said.
Ending her remarks with a firm declaration, Minaj said: “We are not going to be silenced by the bullies anymore. We will speak up for Christians wherever they are in this world.”
