Popular Nigerian rapper, CDQ, has revealed that Afrobeats star Davido once offered him a recording deal but he turned it down.

He explained that following the success of his breakthrough single ‘Indomie’, Davido wanted to sign him to his record label but his (CDQ’s) producer, Masterkraft, opted for a partnership instead, which the DMW boss declined.

He disclosed this in a recent interview with the Echo Room.

CDQ said, “Davido reached out to me through Twitter back then that he wanted to sign me. He told me he just made a lot of money from his African tour and wanted to invest it in money and make me the biggest rapper in Africa.

“I told him whatever I’m doing, Masterkraft has to be involved. So, me and Masterkraft went to a meeting with him, and he told him that CDQ is already a movement on the streets and should consider a partnership instead of a recording deal but Davido decline and the deal fell through.”
