Wike calls Christian genocide claims ‘politics taken too far’

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has finally broken his silence on the allegation of Christian genocide in Nigeria.

Speaking in an interview on Politics Today, a programme on Channels Television monitored by DAILY POST on Monday, Wike described the allegation as politics taken too far.

Recall that US President Donald Trump had declared Nigeria a ‘Country of Particular Concern‘ over allegations of Christian killings in the country.

Reacting, the former Rivers State governor said, “When I was coming here, people were calling and texting me, asking me not to speak about US President Donald Trump. I’m a full-blooded Nigerian. I’m a Christian. My father is a pastor; in fact, my entire family is Christian.

“It is an indictment on my person as a Christian that a government that I’m serving, anybody would allege that such a government is supporting genocide, the killing of Christians. This is politics taken too far.”
