OkMinister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nyesom Wike, has lashed out at the Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi.
He also lashed at governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who defected from the opposition party in the wake of the crisis that hit the party.
Wike, while speaking at the PDP national convention held at the Velodrome of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja said Obi and the former PDP governors did not show leadership traits by leaving their party when there was crisis.
The FCT minister however did not mention them by names.

“The former presidential candidate of the Labour Party who wanted to be president and was given a platform. When a crisis came in the party, that was the time for him to show leadership, but he ran away because he could not solve problems.
Some governors who have defected from the PDP have also shown that they lack leadership traits. I would liken them to that former Labour Party candidate”, he said.
Delegates from Kebbi, Ekiti, Bauchi and several other states led the charge at the 2026 National Convention of the PDP, which was backed by Wike.
The party unveiled 19 new members of its National Working Committee at the event.
