The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yobe State has said that no fewer than 70,000 party members have been registered in the ongoing APC e-membership registration and revalidation exercise across the state’s 17 local government areas.
The party’s state chairman, Alhaji Mohammed Gadaka, disclosed this to journalists during a stakeholders’ meeting with party members in Damaturu.
“The registration dashboard indicated that over 70,000 members had so far been captured in the exercise”, he said.
According to the chairman, effective grassroots mobilisation and sustained awareness creation were key to the success of the programme.
He emphasised the need for deliberate mobilisation, continuous sensitisation, and proper coordination of party members at the state, local government, and ward levels to ensure the message reached constituencies and encouraged widespread participation.
Gadaka reassured party members of the APC’s commitment to justice, equity, fairness, and inclusive governance, stating that “the APC would continue to carry the people along in all its programmes and initiatives”.
Commenting on the development, the Special Adviser to the Yobe State Governor on Political Matters, Hon Usman Kabarma, said party members were fully mobilised and ready to provide massive grassroots support to ensure the success of the APC e-membership registration and revalidation exercise across the state.
It will be recalled that Governor Mai Mala Buni recently charged APC officials to ensure the revalidation of old members and the registration of new ones.
He gave the charge after his membership was revalidated.
“Every member of the party should be registered or has his membership revalidated. No member should be disenfranchised.
“As the leading party in the state and Nigeria, we should justify this numerical strength through documentation of our membership,” Buni advised.
