Your friends persuaded you into following them and left without shouting for help - Nigerian father mourns son who drowned in stagnant water

A Nigerian man, Simon Peter, is left heartbroken after his young son drowned in a stagnant water.  The tragic incident happened while the minor, Lawrence, was playing with his friends.   According to Peter, his son's friends, who had persuaded Lawrence into following them to the location, watched him drown without calling for help. "My dear son, I am sorry for not having the powers to appear and save you when ever you are in trouble, that is why I couldn't save you when you were drowning in that stagnant water, and your friends who persuaded you into following them there all left you without shouting for help until you drowned to death," he wrote in a Facebook post on Wednesday, April 29, 2026. I was searching for you to come home and eat, but only for me to receive a call that you drowned to d3ath in a small stagnant water, rushing there, I realized that life has truly gone out of you.
