Zamfara: Bandits kill ZCPG commander, guards, others in Jangebe

At least nine people have been killed by bandits in Jangebe, a community in Talatar Mafara Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

Among those killed were the commander of the Zamfara Community Protection Guards (ZCPG), Garba Dogo, and five of his men.

The victims were attacked while working on their farms on Friday afternoon.

According to a post by security analyst Bakatsine on Friday night, the bandits stormed the area, shooting at the farmers and guards. Several people were also abducted during the attack.

“This afternoon, bandits attacked farmers in Jangebe, Talatar Mafara LGA, Zamfara State, killing 9 people including 5 ZCPG and their commander, Garba Dogo. Several people were also abducted,” Bakatsine wrote.

The exact numbers of those abducted is yet to be confirmed and authorities are yet to release an official statement on the incident.
