The Action Peoples Party (APP) on Sunday unveiled its candidates for the governorship, Senate and House of Assembly elections in Lagos State.
The candidates emerged via consensus during the party’s primary elections conducted in some parts of the state.
In his remark at the end of the exercise, the Chairman of the APP Electoral Committee, Mr. Nobert Onwumelu, said the candidates emerged through consensus in line with the Electoral Act and the party’s constitution.
Onwumelu said the Electoral Act provided for either direct primaries or consensus arrangement for the emergence of candidates.
He added that the party adopted the latter.
He said Mrs. Abiola Adeyemi emerged as the party’s governorship candidate while Rev. Adewale Ajayi was affirmed as the party’s candidate for the Lagos West Senatorial District.
Onwumelu said the party also produced candidates for some State House of Assembly constituencies.
