A public affairs analyst, Buhari Yusuf, says the Peter Obi and Rabi’u Kwankwaso calculation for a single term is a dangerous political narrative.
Buhari made this statement on Monday when he featured in an interview on Trust TV.
He was speaking on the forthcoming 2027 general elections and the alliance of the two former presidential candidates.
“The Obi-Kwankwaso calculation and the idea of four-year term as a placeholder for Northern establishment after four years is dangerous.
“Why should you elect to go for only one term for such political correctness? The reason Obi is becoming this desperate and going for this political correctness is possibly because he sees the situation quite asphyxiated and no space for him to operate.
“And again, is the issue of lack of wider parameter for democracy to operate. And indeed, I don’t know how it’s going to be, but we are going to experience a serious butter up party.
“And I think the calculus of the All Progressives Congress, APC, knowing Nigerian voter mentality very well, the psychology of Nigerian voter of a new thing always thrown up, and it goes for it.
“We always subscribe for newer things. And therefore, what would they do? Just like a lover and everything goes,” he said.
