Sokoto South Senator, Aminu Tambuwal, has disclosed that former presidential candidates, Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso, left the African Democratic Congress, ADC, to test their popularity.
Tambuwal said Obi and Kwankwaso’s move to the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, was not due to any cracks within the ADC.
Obi and Kwankwaso recently dumped the ADC for the NDC after spending a few months in the former party.
The former governor of Sokoto State spoke while featuring on Channels Television’s ‘Politics Today’ on Friday.
He said: “It’s a matter of choice for Peter Obi and Kwankwaso to leave the ADC for the NDC.
“I do not believe it was because of any crack. I believe they wanted to move to another platform to possibly test their popularity with the Nigerian people during the general elections.”
