300-level Kebbi varsity student k!lled in hostel attack

The management of the Federal University Birnin Kebbi have confirmed the k!lling of a 300-level Biochemistry student, Zaharadeen Nuhu, in an attack by suspected thieves. The student d!ed after sustaining severe machete injuries during an attack by suspected hoodlums at a private hostel in Kalgo Local Government Area of Kebbi State. The universitys Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Ibrahim Magawata, disclosed this in a circular released on Thursday, June 12, 2026 and made available to journalists in Birnin Kebbi. According to the dean, the deceased, who hailed from Niger State, was attacked by a group of suspected thieves at his off-campus residence in Kalgo.  Magawata said the student was rushed to a hospital for treatment but later died in the early hours of Thursday. It is with a heavy heart and total submission to the will of Allah that the university management announces the death of our dear student, Zaharadeen Nuhu, a 300-level student of the Department of Biochemistry," the statement read  He was attacked in one of the private hostels in Kalgo by a group of thieves and sustained severe machete injuries.
