“I didn’t know what to say” — Uzor Arukwe explains silence following Alex Ekubo’s death

Nollywood actor Uzor Arukwe has opened up about why he chose to remain silent after the death of fellow actor Alex Ekubo, revealing that the loss left him struggling for words. In an emotional tribute shared online, Uzor said many people questioned why he did not immediately post photos, write captions, or publicly express his grief following the heartbreaking news. According to him, some losses are too painful to process publicly. "I know some people wondered why I didnt post, why I didnt say anything, why there were no pictures, no captions, no public display of grief. The truth is, I didnt know what to say,"he wrote. Reflecting on his relationship with the late actor, Uzor recalled meeting Alex on filmmaker Dabby Chimeres set, describing him as warm, accommodating, and a true gentleman from the very beginning. He said hearing stories from people who knew Alex even more closely reminded him that beyond fame, talent, and achievements, what people remember most is kindness and the way a person treats others. "People wont only remember our talent or our achievements. They will remember our kindness. They will remember how we treated people. They will remember our spirit," he noted. Uzor explained that his silence was not a sign of indifference but a reflection of the depth of his grief. "Silence was my first response to the news of your death because grief comes with silence too. Not every goodbye needs a post. Some are carried in prayer. Some are carried in memories. Some are carried in the heart." He ended his tribute by thanking Alex for his warmth, grace, and the example he left behind, praying for his peaceful rest. "Well hold the fort on this side until we meet again. Journey well, ezigbo nwoke."  The post I didnt know what to say Uzor Arukwe explains silence following Alex Ekubos death appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
